Brief Description

1.       To promote the safety and soundness of the firms it regulates by; (i) seeking to ensure that the business of firms is carried on in a way which avoids any adverse effect on the stability of the UK financial system, and (ii) seeking to minimise any adverse effects of firm failure on the stability of the UK financial system.
2.       To secure an appropriate degree of protection for those who are or may become insurance policyholders by promoting the soundness of the insurers it regulates (and therefore making it easier to meet their obligations to policyholders both now and in the future).
